Heat detectors play a key role in a fire protection system. The aim of a heat detector is to identify a fast rise in temperature, or when a specific temperature is reached. Should these temperatures be detected, an alarm will sound to alert those in the building.
If a heat detector is not properly maintained, however, it may become less effective.
