No. The Solo 330 is specifically designed for Smoke and CO testing using aerosols. For heat detectors, you should use the Solo 461 Cordless Heat Tester.
This usually happens if the canister isn't "primed" correctly. Ensure you back off the red base by half a turn after hearing the initial hiss. Also, check that the red silicone seal is intact; a worn seal allows gas to escape.
Measure the diameter of your widest detector. If it is under 100mm, the Solo 330 is the correct choice. If you are testing larger heads like the Honeywell Gent S-Quad, Fike, or Nittan ranges, you must use the Solo 332, which features a 133mm internal aperture to ensure a proper airtight seal.
