While both are multi-sensors, the S4-710 is a standard Optical-Heat detector. The S4-711 uses Dual-Angle Optical Scatter technology. This means the S4-711 is much better at distinguishing between real smoke and "nuisance" sources like steam or dust, making it the superior choice for hotel corridors or near bathrooms.
No, the S4-711 is the detector head only. To install it, you will need the S4-700 Common Base. This modular design allows you to swap heads for maintenance without rewiring the base.
The S4-711 has a Device Load Factor of 1. This is the lowest possible rating for an S-Quad sensor, allowing you to populate a full loop of up to 200 devices (subject to total loop current limits).
The S4-711 is designed for the Gent Vigilon and Vigilon Compact/Compact Plus addressable systems. It is a closed-protocol device and is not compatible with standard conventional fire panels or other addressable brands.
